Am I the only one that has been in the midst of a phone call and the phone decided to update to the newest software. Or in the midst of writing a paper, and the computer need to update at that moment for whatever reason. Well the update is not what bothers me, its the very long LOADING process that gets to me. I feel that these updates take FOREVER to load, only to see minimal changes.
We as a single Christian, we are ALWAYS learning, and God puts us in situations that will prepare us ultimately for a divine life with him, but theses circumstances are also to prepare us for the life we will share with the man or woman that God has created for us. These life lessons are updating us for the prosperous life that God has promised. And though Christ is the same yesterday, last week, 3 relationships ago, tomorrow, and 27 years from now (Hebrews 13:8), he is constantly updating us, so that we can receive His best.
Think about it, God has made someone absolutely perfect for you. This man or woman is going to be everything you prayed for and more. He or she will be so focused on God that you will want to draw near the God in them, to embrace what they have to offer. You will see things in them that you have never seen in anyone else, and God will reveal to you that this is someone that you need to invite in.
Now all of that sounds really good!! It does, but what if you are still the person you were 3 relationships ago and have not been able to to explore Christ and experience his glory. What if you were still the stubborn one that was fixed on how fine he/she is, or how much money he/she makes, or the type of car they drive, or the washboard abs or perfect waistline. What if God had not updated your software to look for the things that matter, like a sincere relationship with Christ, someone that will pray with and for you, someone that has your best interest at heart. A man or woman that has common interest, that will make you laugh, someone that makes up where you are lacking. Does that not just sound amazing? Psalms 37:4 tells us that if we delight in Christ, that he will give us the desires of our heart, so that man or woman that you dream of is at an arms reach, through Christ.
Thus being said, RIGHT NOW, TODAY, this is the LOADING time for the system update. This is the time that God wants you to delight in him and study his word, be active in ministry, seek him in absolutely everything you do. This is the time that he wants you to focus on YOU and being the best YOU, so that when he decides to lead you to the place that you will meet Mr. or Mrs. Future, you will be prepared and ready! Allow this loading time to mold you into the man or woman of God that he has called you to be. Use this loading time to experience new things, so that at each update, it will give you more to offer your future mate.
God loves you, and though this portion of your singleness may be tough, he is preparing you for greater. He is preparing you for the divine man or woman that he has prepared specifically for you. He is preparing you for the disagreements that you and your mate may have. He is preparing you for dealing with the conflicts of interest that you may encounter. He is preparing you for the one that he knows will accept you flaws and all, the one that your heart will align with. During your season of singleness, God is preparing you for THE ONE!!!
Remember, God is holding us merely in his hand. So he has some LONG arms, but know that Mr. or Mrs. Future is coming…. Just after your update is complete.
