Ooh ooh, Ahh Ahh, Aye Aye, TURN UP!!! It’s 2016 y’all!!! The Lord has DILIGENTLY GRACED us with the opportunity to see 2016! He has given us yet another opportunity to serve Him, honor Him, and give Him all the praise and glory! He has given us yet another opportunity to embrace his daily grace, and his tailor made mercies (new mercies specifically for us). He kept us when he could have killed us, THUS we have a mighty praise that should flow from the pit of our bellies and a Hallellujah that should flow from our lips! God is TOO GOOD y’all!!! *insert praise break*
So as we begin to set goals, make resolutions, and tackle 2016, let’s be sure that we reflect on 2015. Remember the ups and downs, the blessings, the lessons, the adventures, the heartache, and everything else that The Lord guided us through in 2015. Let’s reflect on a year that was challenging to many but gracious to most, a year that brought out the best and worst of us. Let’s give God the praise for seeing us worthy enough to see a new day and a new year, and as we move forward into 2016 let’s walk in the spirit of expectation, knowing that God WILL in the midst of a how!!

Expectation is defined by Google as “a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.” We have a high expectation in many aspects of our lives, but lack the spirit of expectation as it relates to Christ. We have a high expectation when we are awaiting a package from UPS or FedEx, we see the delivery man/woman and are ready for the doorbell to ring because we have been waiting for the package. We have a high spirit of expectation for people to follow through when they say they are going to do something, yet we don’t have that same spirit of expectation when it comes to God answering our prayers and coming through on our behalf. We lack faith in God when we want something, but when we need something, we are quick to beg God for delivery and the answering of the prayer. Why is it that we have great faith in some aspects of Christ, yet our faith is so weak in others?
Our faith in God and our spirit of expectancy/expectation should ALWAYS be “on 10”. We need faith like the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:40-48), she KNEW that when she touched the hem of His garment that she would be healed.
How many of us can TRULY say that we expect for Him to do for us just because we need it or want it? How many of us are FAITHFUL servants and are obedient to His will and we know that when we pray he is going to respond in our favor?
Let’s make 2016 THAT YEAR!! The year that we KNOW it is going to happen! The year that we are so diligent in our service to Him, that we can expect him to move on our behalf and answer our prayers. Make this YOUR year of expectation, your year of KNOWING Him for who He is, and not just who you need Him to be.
So what are you trusting God for in 2016? What are you needing of Him? Where are you trying to go in Him? He is ready to do exceedingly and abundantly above ALL that you could ask or think, but he is waiting on you to commit to Him and fully give your all to Him!
2016 is MY year of EXPECTATION. It’s MY year of BIG FAITH. It’s my year of OBEDIENCE!! Make the choice, live for Him, and allow 2016 to be your year of expectation as well!!!

Lauren, enjoyed meeting you today at the spa. I will also enjoy following how God rocks your world in ’16.
