The Purge

Last night when I was writing this post, I was presented some mess that very much so changed my spirit. I was really disturbed and discouraged and ultimately in a confused state, because I feel that I was led by God to do something and now the enemy has gotten in the midst and changed the situation to a negative. The crazier thing is that The Lord has told me to purge some of the aspects of this situation out of my life, yet I am constantly being disobedient due to my comfort level. I tell you this story because sometimes the Lord has to allow us discomfort and negativity so that we will walk in obedience and do the things that he has asked of us.

Purge

Have you ever been at a place in which everything in your life seems to be going wrong? Your friends are not being the friends that they used to be, “bae” isn’t communicating and is not as lovey dovey as they used to be, your job is becoming a chore and you truly hate being there.  Have you been at a place that you feel so distant from Christ, but you are going to church and active in ministry, however the relationship with the Lord is just not the same.

If you answered yes to any of those questions, it’s a good time for you to re-evaluate some situations, activities, people, etc. in your life and begin the purging process.  The Lord reminds us in John 15 that He is the gardener and we are the vine, and he keeps us in alignment to Him by pruning our branches, and by purging the things out of our lives that are not bearing fruit.

As you move forward with your day, listen to the Lord and ask Him what needs to stay and what needs to go! If he is saying let some friends go, PURGE THEM! If He is saying let some activities go, PURGE THEM!! Whatever it is, PURGE IT, because He is ready to take you higher in Him, and when you have dead weight holding you down, He is not able to elevate you. Elevation equals separation and the places that God has for you is way better than where you are now!

Make it your goal today to purge some things out of your life and allow God to move mightily in you! Let go of the dead weight and let Him guide you and take you higher in Him. Your purging process may be hard, but remember that your strength is in Him and your obedience will open the door for your hearts desires.

Prayer: Father God, I come to you today first to say thank you. Thank you for your love, your support, your grace, your strength, your power, Lord thank you for everything you offer me as your child. As I begin the purging process, I pray that you will make it clear for me and easy for me to let go of the things that are not of you. Lord I am ready to go higher in you, and I submit my wants and desires to your good and perfect will! Thank you Lord in advance for the elevation and separation that I am getting ready to experience, for I know that it will be good and perfect in you. Thank you Lord! I say this prayer in your son Jesus name, Amen and Praise God.
