Dream Chasing 101

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak at The Deeva Code Brunch, a woman’s empowerment brunch in Chattanooga, TN. It was such an awesome experience and the Lord was truly able to get the glory out of the event, even though the enemy was busy leading up to my speaking. However, I truly believe that I was able to plant some seeds with the ladies that attended and I wanted to share those seeds with my readers and followers. It is my prayer that this post helps you by giving you the steps to accomplish your dreams, visions, and goals!

Being that everyone has (or should have) a dream, vision, or goal (DVG), I first want you to know that YOU have been impregnated with that DVG and when God impregnated you with it, and he has #DiligentlyGraced you with EVERYTHING you need for it to come to fruition. However, bringing it to life  without putting in the work is useless, thus faith without works is dead. Having the dream is easy but making it happen comes with hard work and dedication!

To start the dream chasing process, you will need to state the vision, make it plain, and write it down (Habakkuk 2:2).

• Stating The Vision is establishing the DVG that you were impregnated with? What do you see when you think of your dream, vision, or goal?
• Making It Plain is producing the details. What do you want your DVG to accomplish?
• Write It Down!!! Writing down the details of your DVG is your road map to success. It holds you accountable to yourself and is the drive behind your DVG.

After you are able to state the vision, make it plain, and write it down, you must BELIEVE!

• Believing in YOURSELF is essential to your dream chasing process. We live in a society that women are encouraged to wear make-up daily, weave down to their butts, if you aren’t walking around with a “beat” face, your eyebrows MUST be on fleek. We live in a society were men must drive the nicest car, have big muscles, a fresh cut beard, financially stable and ready to conquer the world. Society sets a standard for our lives in which we try to live by and end up not fully seeing ourselves as the men and women God created us to be! When you start chasing your dreams, you don’t see yourself worthy because you are driven by the standard of society sets,  thus, you dismiss the GRACE in which you’ve been covered! You have EVERYTHING it takes for your DVG to happen! You have been impregnated with purpose and when you begin to live on purpose you will begin to see yourself how God sees you! Not only will your image of yourself change, you will believe in YOUR ability to accomplish your dream, vision or goal!!
• After believing in yourself, you must believe in YOUR DREAM!! People (your friends) may nullify your DVG when you tell them. We allow people that did not accomplish their DVG talk us out of ours. Believe in your product! God impregnated you with it because he wants you to be a vessel for Him when you complete it. If you cannot believe in your God-given DVG, why should anyone else believe in it with you? Why should an investor put out money to help you accomplish some that you don’t fully believe in. God gave you the DVG, if you believe in HIM, you must believe in the things He gives to you!

Lastly, we have to Make It Happen! So many times we give our DVG as sometime/one day expiration date. Set a date of accomplishment and put in the work to make it happen. You MUST think of your DVG as a verb instead of a noun! Think of your DVG as an action not a thing! When you begin to put in work you may have obstacles, however your hiccups are moving you closer to an accomplishment! Do not get discouraged by things not happening when and how you want them to, know that God has a greater plan that will exceed all of your expectations! Extending your deadline IS NOT a bad thing, it makes the pursuit of accomplishing your dream move valuable.

Overall, don’t allow someone who gave up on their dreams, talk you out of yours! Be fearless in the pursuit of the dream you have been impregnated with. Your greatness begins with YOU!!! I love you and I am praying for you! Be Great!!!
