Cast Out Your Nets!!

The great Phrophetess Beyonce’ Knowles has spoken over the lives of many women within her reign as Queen Bey. She’s hyped us up with “Irreplaceable”, encouraging us to have a man in the shadows, ready to step in when our man messes up. She then had us prancing around to “Single Ladies” boosting our head up saying, “if he liked us, then he would have put a ring on it”. And currently, Phrophetess Knowles has us unbothered, not sorry, and encouraging him (whoever he is) to call Becky with the good hair. All the while she is singing these songs, influencing many single women and she is ‘happily’ married enjoying her life drinking her lemonade. *catch that tea*

So many of us single women listen to artists like Beyonce’ and get so boosted on lyrics that we negate the word of God. We allow the influence of the world to control us during our singleness, when the Lord just wants us to trust him and trust his timing.  We get so consumed in the idea of having a man that we settle within a relationship that we know is not of God. We endure the foolishness brought to us by a man because we don’t want to be alone. Ladies, please know that God wants more for us than to settle!

In Luke 5:3-7, Peter had been out fishing all day without one catch. He was pretty discouraged when Jesus told him to set out his nets and fish after being out all day without a catch, but he was obedient and when he went out, he caught fish and had overflow.

So many times we as women are like Peter. We put our best foot forward within the dating and relationship scene, yet nothing of substance comes of it.  We meet men, date them, they talk a good game and yet and still we end up lonely and hurt and ultimately discouraged. Peter, a fisherman , knew how to fish yet on that day he caught nothing. We as women know that we have what it takes to be successful in a relationship yet we are single with no potential in sight. We sulk in this singleness, but Jesus is speaking to us and telling us to try again. He tells us to put our nets back out, but we can’t seem to look past the hurt we recently endured so once again, we listen to Phropthess Beyonce’ and holler “boy bye”.

Peter’s obedience to Jesus illustrated the reality that he trusted what Jesus said. He trusted that when Jesus said put out your net, that he was going to catch something. Yes, he questioned the command, but his obedience opened up the door for a miracle, a miracle that demonstrated the power of God. The same power that can consume you (and me too) and can allow a door to open and for us to be found by an AMAZING man of God. The Lord does not want us to sulk in our singleness! He wants us to be in a happy and healthy relationship, a relationship that honors Him, he wants us to be prepared for the greatness He has in store for us. Though dating and relationships seem tough, the Lord is telling us to cast out our net, put your heart back out on the line for the man He has for you. He is telling us that if we can obey Him and do what He says, He will bless us with overflow.  Overflow that will exceed any and every one of your prayers. Overflow that will go above and beyond ‘the list’ of qualifications you have. The overflow that you will be received for your obedience will be genuine, and you will constantly ask God “Lord you saved this man for ME?”.

Ladies cast out your nets, give dating and relationships another try. Allow God to mold you to be who he wants you to be so when he gives you the instruction to try again, you are ready. Don’t sulk in the bitterness, the heartache, the lyrics! Stand firm in knowing that God’s timing is perfect and that He is preparing your husband for YOU. Be ready ladies, because ‘Bae’ is on his way!

Love you all, and I am praying for you all! Be great!
