You remember in grade school when playing dodgeball, kickball or practically any other team sport that required picking teams, and there were two team captains, and each captain picked someone off the wall to be on their team until everyone was chosen. Usually, the captains knew the best people to play that game/sport, or they saw potential in some of the other participants, thus that was who got chosen first, but in the end, everyone was on one team or the other and each player played according to the plan or instruction of the team captain.
Now….. Imagine being lined up on the wall, Captain A and Captain B began to pick teams. And Captain A said let me get the one in the red shirt, oh yea, and the tall one with the black shorts on, oh and (insert your name here) you know you on my team. These captains go back and forth until everyone is on one team or another, and because Captain A chose YOU, you are on the winning team. Imagine being on this team of winner’s so passionate about the game, that every time they stepped on the field, they turned heads because there was “something different about them”. Every time someone saw one of these team members, they walked with a boldness and confidence that expelled truthfulness, fairness, excellence on and off the field. Well guess what, Team Captain A was God, He chose YOU!!! Yes, YOU, before the creation of the world, He knew that he wanted you on His team. God said, (insert your name here) will be a great asset to the team and with his/her help, we will have consistent wins. Will he/she fall short, yes of course, no-one has a perfect game every time, however when he/she is on the field they will go hard and be a beast for the team.
Long story short, God knew who you were and what you could accomplish before you were born, better yet He had a plan for you even before your parents met and created you. Jeremiah 1:5 reads “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to all the nations”. Let’s not get caught up on the “I appointed you as a prophet” part, but lets focus on the fact God knew you, chose you, and set you apart before you were even a peanut shaped being in your mom’s tummy. And not only did he know you, He already had a divine purpose for you. How special is that? To know that out of the womb your father had an assignment for you to fulfill a special task just for you, a task that would assist with even more kingdom wins than you would have ever imagined or thought of.
So, how is your game? Are you genuinely at the place that you are being a team player or are you keeping the bench warm until you are ready to play ball? Regardless of where you are RIGHT NOW, know that God will forever be ready for you to put in work for the team. None of your teammates expect you to be perfect, but WE do expect progress over perfection. Thus, today I challenge you to search your heart for your YES to Him. Ask Him to help identify where you need a little more coaching so that you can fulfill your purpose and be an effective player on the team.
Today your surrender should be, yes, I am ready “Put Me In Coach”…
I love you and I am praying for you!!! – Elle Breeze
